Event Description:

Following the July 2009 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates on the front porch of his own home by Cambridge Police Sergeant James Crowley, President Obama invited the two men to the White House for a meeting over beer to discuss the incident.

At the same time in Philadelphia, Global Citizen organized a Beer Summit in Center City Philadelphia for concerned citizens to meet, mingle, and discuss race relations in our city and throughout America.

On Wednesday, July 30 we will continue our discussion about race, class and power and how we all can overcome the barriers that have continued to divide so many.

Questions? Contact  mlk365@globalcitizen365.org .

Beer, soft drinks and snacks will be offered during the event.
